Eczema is one of the most irritating diseases that affect the skin. A person who suffers from it often makes repeated visits to the doctors for any kind of relief. But do you know that this seemingly incurable disease has simple home remedies? You will discover that after visiting so many healthcare providers and skin specialists, a simple remedy at home has cured your disease. Eczema home treatment can be done in the comfort of your very own house.

Do you know that a change in diet can reduce this problem? Yes, changing the diet is one of the best eczema home treatments. Try to look at the effect that occurs to your present state of eczema, by the change in your diet. Eating mint leaves or having lots of fluids will keep the skin hydrated all the time. A hydrated skin will diminish the itchy effects caused by eczema.

Try to maintain a moisturizing regime. It will keep you hydrated. But in case you are using any topical cream, then it is not advisable to apply moisturizer over it. Applying the moisturizer for two times a day is best. Use a good quality moisturizer and take a look at its components before you buy it. It should not contain alcohol as of its components. Sometimes ingredients in the moisturizer are often the cause of eczema itself or they can enhance the problem. So you would be best to make sure that you buy moisturizers that are devoid of any perfume.

Skin inflammation caused by eczema leads to itchiness. In case you scratch that area, scarring or bleeding may also occur. One of the best eczema home treatments to reduce itchiness is by applying some coconut oil on the affected area. If possible, spread liberally. Apply a mud pack over your body. This process is very helpful in avoiding eczematous condition. However, this may be slightly more expensive.

Another good eczema home treatment is using the spearmint extract on the affected area. It cools down the burning sensation, and you will not feel itchy.
Extract of fresh almond leaves can be smeared over the skin patch. These can be grinded with water. The almond leaves prevent further increase of eczema. Mashed papaya seeds’ pate can also be applied over the affected area. This will also give a cool sensation. Camphor paste along with sandal-wood powder can also give local relief. Similar musk-melon and carrot pastes provide relief by having a cool effect.

Wear clothes that are made of cotton or a cotton blend. Synthetics and wool products can often irritate the skin which in turn makes you want to scratch thus making your eczema worse. There are also a lot of new age fabrics which are very low allergenic and highly breathable which makes them great for people with eczema.

Quick Tip #2

If your eczema seems to be getting out of control then take a visit to your doctor to get a prescription for a steroid treatment. If after 3 weeks the cream is not working then you should visit your doctor again to make sure there are no other problems.

Quick Tip #3

Use moisturizers every day to help keep your skin soft and supple, this will help to prevent your skin from cracking. You want to try and avoid moisturizers with perfumes or other ingredients that may aggravate your eczema.
